Overview
The Alsace University Innovation Hub (Pôle universitaire d’innovation Alsace – PUIA) is a project that brings together the main players in the Alsace innovation community. Its eleven founding members include the University of Strasbourg, (lead partner), the Université de Haute-Alsace, the region’s four major research organisations (CNRS, Inserm, Inria, INRAE), INSA Strasbourg, ENGEES, SATT Conectus, the SEMIA / Quest for change incubator and the University Hospitals of Strasbourg.
Objectives
Strengthening the identification of high-potential projects in Alsatian universities
A team dedicated to identifying promising new projects has been set up across several fields, including health, humanities and social sciences, digital and IT, greentech and sustainable development, engineering sciences and techniques, and applied sciences. They work alongside the initiatives already carried out by SATT Conectus and CNRS.
These officers meet with researchers and are present in research laboratories. Their role is to guide those who want to get involved in a commercialisation or innovation project.
Building stronger links between academia and the socio-economic world
The aim of the Alsace University Innovation Hub is to showcase the expertise of research laboratories and the wide range of mechanisms available to support collaboration with businesses, public authorities and associations. Whether through student projects, collaborative research, expert guidance or access to specialised facilities, there are multiple opportunities to partner with the university.
Improving the efficiency of innovation support
The Alsace University Innovation Hub also works to strengthen the region’s existing innovation support systems, which already include the technology transfer operator SATT Conectus and the incubator SEMIA / Quest for Change. Its mission is to map out innovation activity across the region and to reduce the time required for negotiation and contracting for commercialisation and innovation projects.
